Q. How quickly can I get married?
Ans. One calendar month must elapse from the date a "Notice of Intended Marriage" form is lodged with the celebrant to the date of the ceremony, unless special permission is granted in extenuating circumstances.
Q. We would like to marry in a Church. Do we still need to have the official wedding in a Registry Office?
Ans. No. A "Notice of Intended Marriage" form must be lodged with the minister at the church one calendar month before the ceremony. Broome caters to a range of religions.
Q. Can I marry an overseas resident?
Ans. Yes, a person's residence is not a factor to marriage. Your marriage celebrant will guide you through the process.
Q. We would like to Elope – but want to bring our parents / or children with us to celebrate?
Ans. You can still book one of our Elope packages. Although designed for a couple, we can expand the package to a total maximum of 6 people, for a small additional charge of $50.
Q. What if we have to cancel the wedding, or change the date after we have paid our deposit?
Ans. Each of the suppliers, including Broome Weddings, have various Terms & Conditions which we suggest you read carefully before you sign up. As a general rule, if costs or time have been incurred by the supplier, or Broome Weddings, there is likely to be some cancellation fee.
Q. How far in advance do I have to pay for my wedding?
Ans. If you are booking a Complete package then generally you will need to pay a deposit of 10% of total package + $1,000 within 7 days of receiving the booking confirmation. The balance is then due 42 days prior to the arrival date to Broome. These Complete packages are booked through a local licensed travel agent and your money is held in an authorised trust fund. If you have chosen the Paradise Planning a $1,000 deposit to Broome Weddings is required to confirm your booking; most reception venues will require a deposit so we arrange an invoice and we pass this on to you with their terms & conditions for direct payment. Many couples like to pay for their larger wedding by instalments throughout the year. We keep track of these payments for you so we can advise your balance at any time.
Q. What if I change my mind about something I have already booked?
Ans. Amendment fees apply if suppliers bookings have to be re-issued. We charge $25 per booking that has to be changed, or other suppliers may also have cancellation fees, depending on your change. We recommend you choose carefully, and once a decision has been made, stay with it unless there are extenuating circumstances.
