Broome Weddings has several celebrants that work closely with us. We attempt to match the couple to the most appropriate celebrant and also have profiles on each celebrant that can be emailed to our clients for their selection. Documentation which must be sighted by the Celebrant BEFORE the wedding:
- A “Notice of Intended Marriage” which must be provided to the Celebrant not less that one month and one day before the wedding date. The form is available from the Celebrant. We will also forward a copy to you with your initial booking.
- Evidence of Birth¸ which should be a full birth certificate but in some circumstances a current passport or naturalisation Certificate will be acceptable.
- Divorcees: In Australia, the Decree Absolute – an acceptable form from other countries. Some countries do not permit divorce and Australia will not accept documentation from them. If in doubt, please ask.
- Widowed: The Death Certificate.
- Change of Name: The Deed Poll or License.
- Persons under the age of 18. Marriages between two people under the age of 18 are prohibited in Australia. Permission from a Court may have to be obtained.
- Witnesses: You will need two adults to act as witnesses to the wedding.
